Chicarica is composed of Lorena Pulgar, Martín Pérez Roa, and Felipe Zenteno. Hailing from Santiago, Chile, Chicarica follows in the footsteps of the country’s distinguished tradition of synthpop acts. Their debut EP, Dale Mami (Cazador), was released in 2018, followed by their first full-length album, Arde Lento (Quemasucabeza, 2021). The ethereal and fluid nature of their music led to a remix version of Arde Lento, featuring reworks by various artists from the Chilean electronic scene. The fusion of Pulgar’s vocals, dreamy synthesizers, and danceable rhythms has caught the attention of media outlets such as Rolling Stone, Indie Rocks, Billboard, and Indie Hoy. Now fully independent, the band presents their latest album Invierno en la playa, marking the beginning of a new era for Chicarica.
