After many shared and individual musical experiences, Rémi Panossian (piano), Maxime Delporte (double bass), and Frédéric Petitprez (drums) formed their trio in 2009. Their debut album Add Fiction (2011) was met with acclaim from international press and audiences. Their musical and personal chemistry quickly turned them into a real band, blending rock energy with jazz lyricism, they soon played on the legendary stage of the Olympia.
In 2013, Bbang took them onto stages worldwide. Over 15 years, the trio has played over 800 concerts in more than 40 countries, performing at major festivals such as Tokyo, Montreal, Jarasum, Marciac, Taichung, and Mexico City. Their third album, produced by Éric Legnini, earned strong critical praise (FIP, Les Inrocks, France Inter…).
Their fourth album (2017) opened new horizons with many guests, from MC RacecaR to flutist Maïa Barouh. In 2020, In Odd We Trust marked a return to the trio's essence with a live studio recording. Despite the pandemic, they recorded a live best-of in 2022 and released Sun Monkey Voltage, again acclaimed.
In the spirit of E.S.T. and The Bad Plus, the trio shakes up contemporary jazz with a unique, playful, and expressive style. Newly signed to the Parisian label naïve, they are set to release their 8th album, 88888888. Recorded in Seoul in March 2024 during an Asian tour, the project reflects the trio’s joyful energy and sharp sense of irony — all backed by undeniable virtuosity.
