Charleston, South Carolina native Micah McLaurin began his journey to pop music in the world of classical music, training at Curtis Institute of Music and Juilliard and winning the Gilmore Prize. But that world left little opportunity for Micah's own voice to flourish. Venturing out, Micah reimagined a collection of timeless songs with deep personal meaning in his 2023 instrumental album Diamonds. Recorded at Abbey Road with The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, the album was produced by the acclaimed Nick Patrick with tracks co-arranged by Micah with arrangers David Campbell (Elton John, Taylor Swift, Miley Cyrus, Adele, Barbara Streisand), Chris Walden (Aretha Franklin, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder), and Robin Smith (Andrea Bocelli, Tina Turner, Cher).
Along the way, Micah found his voice, literally and figuratively, writing and singing his own pop music, including his acclaimed disco anthem “Don’t Give Up On Love,” and winning praise from Rolling Stone, Entertainment Tonight, Paper Magazine, V Magazine, Vanity Fair, WWD, Marie Claire, Page Six, Queerty, Pride.com, and more. Micah is joining his virtuosic musical talent and his fashion sense to celebrate what makes him unique as he continues to work with some of the industry’s hottest producers to create pop music that connects with his true self.
