Keith Thompson, known professionally as Krust or DJ Krust, was born on 26 July 1968 in Bristol, England, and began his career as a DJ and producer. His first breakthrough came with the 1995 single "Quiz Show" / "Future Talk", which established his reputation in the emerging drum & bass scene. In 1997 he released the Genetic Manipulation EP, followed by the Coded Language album in 1999, and the Hidden Knowledge album in 2006, each featuring tracks such as "Warhead" and "Soul in Motion" that became staples of the genre. DJ Krust signed with Talkin' Loud and V Recordings, collaborating with Roni Size’s Reprazent collective and releasing the Coded Language album in 1999 and the remix album Decoded in 2000. He later founded the Full Cycle label, producing singles like "Kloakin King" (2002) and the Hidden Knowledge EP (2006). In 2016 he relaunched Full Cycle with Roni Size, and in 2020 he issued the album Edge of Everything. DJ Krust’s work has earned chart positions in the UK and recognition as a pioneer of the Bristol sound, with notable releases such as "Warhead" reaching the top ten in 1999 and his 1997 single "Wishing on a Star" achieving a UK top ten placement. After the release of the five-part Irrational Numbers compilation series (2023–2024), DJ Krust achieved renewed success in 2026 with “One Stop Mr Driver,” remixed by Tim Reaper.
