Skinny spent his youth waking up in the streets of Berlin surrounded by youth gangs, hip-hop, spray cans and Breakdance. In the early 90s he improved his pocket money by selling mixtapes, which he recorded live from "Yo MTV Raps" as tapes. It wasn't until the beginning of 2000 that he discover rap for himself and record his first tracks. To date, all beats, mix and mastering processes are handled entirely by him. His first love for music is not about selling as many albums as possible.
Skinny is arguably one of the least hyped German rap artists from the German-speaking world. He was way ahead of many other rappers. While the others where still developing their flows on New York Beats, Skinny came back in early 2000 with the dirty flow techniques from the dirty south, inspired by Three6Mafia, 8Ball & MGJ and many other artists from Memphis.
His first big breakthrough came in 2008 with the album Letz Get It Crunk, which reached number 1 on the myspace music charts and brought him many new followers and a few million streams. As the founder of "Crunk Media" he continues to produce new tracks which he publishes from time to time or makes available free of charge.
