Darin Eugene Espinoza, known professionally as Dante Thomas, was born on 7 January 1978 in Salt Lake City, Utah, and emerged as a soul singer rooted in a musical family. His career began with the 2001 single "Miss California", which topped German charts and earned a gold record, followed by the album Fly that entered the European top ten. In 2004, he released the single "Get It On", reaching the German radio top forty, and in 2007 issued "What I Got" which entered the German top twenty. The 2009 single "Isn’t It True" and the 2011 release "Damage Is Done" both charted in Germany, the latter previewing the 2013 album Hardcore on Videotape. Throughout the 2010s, Dante Thomas collaborated with artists such as Michael Mind Project, DJ Tomekk, and Claudia Pavel, producing singles like "Feeling So Blue" and "Lonely". His discography also includes the album The Truth (2009) and Hardcore on Videotape (2013). Dante Thomas’s work consistently achieved chart placements across Europe, with multiple gold certifications for "Miss California" in Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, and Sweden, solidifying his presence in the soul and R&B scenes.
