British street punk band, Anti-Nowhere League, was formed in 1979 in Royal Tunbridge Wells, Kent. The original lineup included lead singer Nick "Animal" Culmer, guitarist Chris "Magoo" Exall, drummer Tony "Bones" Shaw, and bassist Chris Elvey. Their first performance took place at the 1980 Chaos Show at St Mark's Hall, Royal Tunbridge Wells. In November 1981, they released their debut single, a cover of Ralph McTell’s "Streets of London", which peaked at number 48 in the UK Singles Chart and featured the profanity-laden B-side "So What". The band's first album, We Are...The League, was released in 1982 and reached number 24 in the UK Albums Chart. Throughout the mid-1980s, Anti-Nowhere League faced several lineup changes and periods of inactivity. In 1987, they disbanded but reunited for a farewell show in 1989. The band's comeback began in 1992 when Nick "Animal" Culmer joined Metallica at Wembley Arena to perform "So What". This led to further tours and the release of several albums, including Kings and Queens (2005) on Captain Oi! Records. In 2006, they established their own label, Nowhere Records, releasing Pig Iron - The Album. Notable achievements include a twenty-nine-date UK tour in 2006 and performances at the Punk Rebellion festival in Blackpool. The band continued to release albums such as The Cage (2016) and League Style, Loosen Up Vol I (2017).
