Benjamin Koll is the alter ego of the Spanish producer formerly known as Juan Belmonte. Born in Alicante, Spain, Juan showed an early interest in the arts, especially literature, painting and music. He started working as a DJ in clubs and radio stations in his teens but soon discovered he would rather make his own music than play others' and that's how he started his career as a music producer.
Having written, produced and arranged hit songs and remixes for world-renowned pop groups and singers, Juan Belmonte, as a musician, became known for his top-notch production technique and his expertise in creating club and radio hits that captivated audiences around the world. In the second half of the 90's and until the mid 2000's he founded the production team "Pumpin' Dolls", becoming one of the most sought after names in the record industry, achieving 3 Billboard number one sales in the USA, another seven in different countries, adding up to more than 40 number ones with work for artists such as Santana, Mike Oldfield Christopher Cross, Whitney Houston, Cher, TLC, Kylie Minogue, Matt Bianco, A-Ha, Blue, Ana Torroja, Marta Sanchez, Monica Naranjo and Miami Sound Machine. In 2005, he disbanded the "Pumpin' Dolls" label and returned to doing solo work and producing different artists under his own name.
After taking a short break from music in 2008 and focusing on publishing his first novel ("Ayer", soon to be released in English), he returned in 2012 and created his own record label. While working with Spanish and Latin American artists on his new venture, he began toying with the idea of recording one of his new songs with his own voice; this is how Benjamin Koll came to life.
Benjamin is the result of a dream; a character that arose from the need to make music completely to his own taste and style, after years of hiding behind other artists. It was also the opportunity to create songs that men who are attracted to other men could identify with. Sonically, the project shows a strong soul, house and funk influence, upbeat and optimistic, and has been building up with the release of first album "Songs For A Better Future" (2017) and then "All Systems Go" (2020), both accompanied by very popular remix singles and music videos as well of his successful Listening Companion books available on Amazon.
On 2021 came "Once In a Lifetime", a compilation of previous tracks from his "Perfected" project revisited, remixed and enhanced. This album flawlessly evokes that big club vibe with luxury and elegance and brings it to your own home. The first was "Do It Again" accompanied by a space extravaganza music video that also got a remix months later. The album features collaborations with producers Jose Spinnin Cortes, Luis Erre and singer Paris Aguilar. A few months later was completed with the release of “Club Mixes Part One”, 2 hour compilation album with all his club mixes and remixes previously unavailable on streaming + a new instrumental club mix of “Tell Me Why”, one of Benjamin’s more successful singles.
As with the previous two albums, "Once In a Lifetime” was accompanied by the publication of a soft cover book in English with photographs and lyrics of the songs. The book collection is sold exclusively at Amazon online stores. All books have more than 95 full-color pages showcasing the expanded universe of each album. Benjamin delights us with a compendium of exciting and bold images by photographers and illustrators that bring to life the music you'll discover on the albums.
2022 welcomes Osito, Ben’s new studio album evoking styles ranging from the disco sound of the 70s, the funk of the 80s, to the House of the 90s, with lyrics about love, pleasure and party, but also about the end of love and relationships. And perhaps, in this album, accompanied by a greater physical and sexual visibility, Koll is deepening a more personal musical and erotic shift.
Benjamin’s music videos have already reached more than 12 million views, and his following on Instagram and other platforms grows steadily worldwide, adding on 2020 new subscriber channels on Patreon, Only Fans and Just For Fans that have given the chance to many fans to experience the creation process, special uncensored editions of the music videos, behind the scenes and specially created exclusive adult content delivered on a daily basis. Benjamin’s stage presence is powerful and sexy, something that can be seen in his music videos, and his live shows are designed to be a visual and sonic experience.
