Mpho Sebina is a Botswana-born and bred melodist and songwriter who has spread her wings across the African music scene over the past couple of years. Her sound is Neo Soul and AfroIndie, performing for small acoustic audiences to large festival stages, the latest being the Forbes Under 30 Pan African Welcome Celebration hosted in Gaborone , Botswana this May 2024 . June 2022 she was Nairobi Kenya on invitation by Google Alte initiative, where she has been selected along with 29 other creatives across the continent. This September she was invited as a speaker by The Music Imbizo conference , hosted in Durban (South Africa). It collects various music industry stakeholders under one roof to map new and exciting ways for the music industry in the African continent. It is a platform to exhibit, network, share expertise and knowledge whilst doing business.
October 2022 brought about her first AFRIMMA Nomination for best female Southern Africa Alongside Msaki,Makhadzi and Ammara Brown to name a few and the release of her setswana heartbreak ballad “Tsela Tshweu” .Botswana melodist and songwriter Mpho Sebina is a global music force with a voice that dances over melodic beats and production. She debuted her first project in 2017, a six track EP titled “Neo'' featuring the hit song ‘No Evil’ which encompasses all of the musical elements that make and influence her from Setswana Folk to RnB to Hip Hop. In 2020 she released her sophomore project and debut album entitled “Lora” to a well-received audience with standout songs ‘Dikeledi’ and ‘Dumelang’.
Mpho has achieved popular success as the feature artist on the Amapiano smash ‘Dinaledi’ and achieved her first award at the inaugural South Africa Amapiano Awards 2021 with ‘Dinaledi’ for ‘Best Video’. Also in 2021, Mpho was named Botswana’s Number 1 Lady in Music by youth radio station Yarona Fm. Mpho is an Alumni of Goethe Institut PopKultur held in Berlin and has proudly collaborated with various artists all across the continent.
She was honored to work with Gallo Records on the remake of the Brenda Fassie classic “Too Late for Mama '' Executive Produced by Black Coffee
(South Africa) and has also worked with Karun (Kenya) and Worlasi (Ghana). She hopes to continue working with artists across the continent and
globally using music as a driving force to connect the world.
In 2017 she created Naked Soul, a concept music event that is cross genre and has hosted experiences in Gaborone, Johannesburg , Washington DC
and Digitally.
