Emma Kate Dean, also known as Emma Dean, born in 1983 in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. She graduated from the Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University. Dean began her music career with the release of her first EP, "Hanging Out the Washing", in 2005. Her debut album, Real Life Computer Game, was released in 2008, followed by Dr Dream and the Imaginary Pop-cabaret in 2010. Dean has collaborated with various artists, including Colin Webber on The Tempest Soundtrack (June 2009) and Jacob Diefenbach on the EP Downside Up (2009). She has also performed with the Kate Miller-Heidke Band from 2003 to 2006. Throughout her career, Dean has released several notable EPs, including "Face Painter" in 2006 and "White Red Black" in 2014. Her most recent album, Shape Of A Girl, was released in 2022.
