Race no-one but yourself.
Born from a deep-rooted passion for music and a journey of self-discovery, Taega emerged onto the rap scene in 2020, when he first started writing and rapping. From an early age, Taega exhibited a natural musicality, learning the guitar as his first instrument, followed by the drums and piano. His talents were further honed during his teenage years when he would perform with his high school band.
Inspired by rappers like J. Cole, JZAC, Joyner Lucas and K.A.A.N., Taega found his unique voice in rap. Initially focused on music production and beat-making, he soon found a deeper connection with lyrical expression and storytelling. Taega's music resonates with his own life experiences, exploring themes of: letting go, self-doubt, valuing health over material wealth, faith in oneself, trusting the universe and finding your own way.
However, Taega's path was never one without its challenges. "Growing up without a father had left me looking elsewhere for guidance before looking to myself." His music often reflects the struggles of his upbringing, expressing an authenticity that many listeners can deeply relate to.
After honing his craft in his early twenties, Taega began performing to local crowds at open mic events, giving him invaluable experience he needed to help further refine his stage presence. Taega remains ahead in his own lane - committed to encouraging others to believe more in themselves and to never give up on doing what they love!
