Nigerian rap and afrobeats sensation Oba Lurge sustained a high-level of commercial presence shortly after hitting the music scene in 2019. His introspective rap & afrobeats vibe, coupled with sensitive mind blowing songwriting skills has made all of his projects a charts topper on local Nigerian radio stations. Oba Lurge’s singles like “Uncle London”, “Carry Go” and “Ekukuleku” have been getting good AirPlay on Nigerian radio stations. Oba Lurge’s profile as a talented Afrobeats artist is currently on the rise hits wise, He has collaborated with both the established and fast rising acts. Born Olufemi George to a retired Customs officer dad and a trader mom, Oba Lurge is not only a musician but a web developer. Music is not just an expression of how he connects to a beat, it is a fusion of his thoughts and emotions he says. Oba Lurge began writing short stories at age 10 with encouragement from his siblings. He honed his craft performing at school talent shows and community events. At 16, he started recording demos with music producers Crossroadz & St Kay whom he kept working with, evolving and refining his sound. His debut EP “Mich Selber” was released on his 25th birthday. The EP featured superstars like Joeboy & Dj Voyst at its release party in a Lagos nightclub. Oba Lurge is greatly influenced by new day legends like 2Baba D'banj Wande Coal Mi abaga WizKid Burna Boy Mr Eazi DaVido He has also opened for Nasty C DaVido Olamide and Reminisce.
