busy working on a new banger
JIN-TARO, a mysterious alter ego which sounds somehow Japanese as he likes movies with Jackie Chan and Bruce Lee. “There is no real meaning for my pen name, but on the internet I found something I can relate to”, chuckles JIN-TARO.

JIN-TARO: “Originally I wanted to be an anonymous artist like for instance Daft Punk or Deadmau5, but nowadays people want to see the faces behind producers of dance-tracks. So I don’t wear a mask.”
JIN-TARO is the son of a music-producer in the eighties (one of his hits is ‘No Police’, a cult HI NRG-track. It hit the charts way back in 1986).
JIN-TARO saw almost every weekend new and renowed people visiting his dads studio for recordings.
JIN-TARO: “I even got more interested in making music when I bought my first home computers. Ever since I’ve frequently upgraded my studio gear.”
With this gear he started making new beat and acid house at the end of the eighties and techno and trance in the nineties. New business opportunities in his working life resulted in a musical big sleep.
A few years ago JIN-TARO upgraded his soft- and hardware and made tracks for home and care pleasure. In 2020 he started making E(lectronic) D(ance) M(usic), especially big room (house) and hardstyle.
JIN-TARO: “For realising my tracks I needed a record label. So I contacted Christoff Wybouw, head of the Onadisc label, whom I also sent a dance remix of ‘Me wuf is weg’ by Kamiel, one of the tunes which he created together with my dad a long time ago. Christoff appreciated this edit and a few weeks later we started making music. The circle was round.”
Together with Wybouw aka Professor Feelgood and Nicky Baker JIN-TARO came up with ‘Wear a Mask’, a Covid-19 related track which related to the fact people needed to wear a mask during the corona pandemic. The proof of the eating was in the pudding and Wybowski gave him free play to work on some of his other projects. This improved Pedro’s producing and mixing-qualities.
In 2021 Wybouw asked him to make a remix of ‘Oh Tetete’, a song by the Brazilian singer Alex Ferrari featuring WZ Trap he licensed for Europe. The music video included a cameo by the world famous Brazilian football player Neymar.
JIN-TARO: “I wanted to create something special, so I decided to blend a few styles within this southern style. I came up with a mix of barnaton (Barcelona meets reggaeton) and moombahton (a fusion of reggaeton and house). I also used some typical reggaeton percussion rhythms.”
Tomorrowland
Wybouw was impressed by this track and decided to release JIN TARO’s first ep on Onadisc.
JIN-TARO: “I kept on making big room (house) and hardstyle tracks. This resulted in the following tracks: ‘My Time is here’ (hardstyle, a song which refers to my presence in the musicscene), ‘Age of JIN-TARO’ (hardstyle, the videoclip contains images of the launch of the space shuttle, a metaphor symbolizing the start of my music career) and ‘We are Guys (or Gods?)’ (big room). Usually track titles contain words and phrases from vocal parts I use. For these tunes I made royalty free music videos for my YouTube-channel. New content rapidly increased the number of subscribers and views.”
Before this year’s end ‘Yeha Noha’ (a Navajo Indian inspired dancefloor filler) and ‘Put your f***ing Hands up (the first big room-track JIN-TARO produced, in the summer of 2020) will also see the light of day.
JIN-TARO is eager to play DJ-sets in clubs and at festivals in 2022. These sets will be mainly build up with his own tunes.
His ultimate ambition? Playing at Tomorrowland.
JIN-TARO: “I wanna see some hands. I wanna see LOTS OF HANDS.”
