Midva is a french and german producer/beatmaker based in Strasbourg, France.
His music mixes as well his jazz pianist experience as a bandmember of different groups in the Omezis collective (Emile Londonien, Cheap House, Acousmatics...) and his producer skills, evolving as much in the hip hop as in the indie electronic scene. His tracks combine ambient soundscapes from analog synths and lofi rhodes/pianos with percussive basslines and laidback/broken rythms. His major influences are hybrid artists that are able to oscillate between jazz and electronics, like Taylor McFerrin, Shigeto, Eric Lau, Kuna Maze.
The name "Midva" refers to the slovene language, in which midva is a pronoun used as the dual form. It litteraly means "the two of us", and it refers to his intention to record and sample different musicians that are around him in his own solo project. Most of the tracks are the result of a jam session or a specific moment shared with another person.
