Amsterdam based Roger Helmus’ sound can be best described as Deep House with a lot of Disco, Funk, Afro- and Breakbeat influences. While Deep House usually is the starting point of an idea, the final outcome will always be a blend of different styles. Continuously with a strong focus on catchy melodies, Funk-driven basslines, captivating drums and compelling vocals. Making his sound melodious and recognizable, yet funky and unique.
His 2022 debut album GOLD really embodies his love for solid melodies, blended with multiple styles and grooves. A 10-track Deep House album with many subtle sidesteps to different genres, sometimes even within a track!
While crafting and fine tuning his sound- and style throughout the years, Roger already had some notable successes before his album GOLD. Like the several well-received remixes (reaching the big crowd with his ‘Hozier - Take me to church’ remix) and his ‘Nobody’s Fool’ EP on Deeplomatic Recordings in 2016. Additionally, making his radio debut on Ibiza Live Radio in 2019.
