Autumnist AKA Vlado Durajka had initially under the moniker Abuse released several EP’s as well as critically acclaimed album The Great Outdoors (2005).
The eponymous opus The Autumnist (2009) was music critics’ Album of the year at the prestigious Slovak Radio_Head Awards.
The following offering Sound Of Unrest (2013) experimented with minor change of musical direction, away from electronica and towards more organic sound.
Autumnist’s next sonic outing False Beacon (2018) was again very well received both by the listeners and critics, reaping another Album of the Year award.
Autumnist’s live line up comprises 6 seasoned instrumentalists backed by evocative dreamy visuals. The band has enjoyed performing at number of renowned international festivals and venues, such as Eurosonic Noordeslaag, SXSW, Sziget, Pohoda, Colours of Ostrava, BuSH or Cargo, and supported the likes of Recoil, Laika, Cinematic Orchestra, Mouse on Mars or Coldcut.
Prestigious music magazine Louder Than War said that Autumnist offer “...something pretty original with their combination of samples, loops and a grinding, honking sax that explores a middle ground between soundtrack and indie dance grooves of 808 State and an experimental soundscape take on John Carpenter jamming with Massive Attack and a hypnotic blend of up-to-date electronica.“
The fourth studio album Anatomy Of Shadows will be released on September 26, 2024.
