Blujaye began as a clarinetist and saxophonist in middle school, and discovered a passion for singing mid-way through college. He spent his early years arranging classic Nintendo video game tracks on MuseScore, before transitioning to production at 18. After his introduction to Korean music that same year, he explored his taste in music and fell in love with the style of contemporary R&B. His major influences include Vedo, VIXX, Summer Walker, and SZA, as well as Japanese composers such as Hiroki Morishita and Yasunori Mitsuda. Blujaye aims to create a sound that blends all of his influences, and further develop his skills as a multi-instrumentalist and singer.
