His dream comes true, he has songs, songs in French that he will not deny.
Tony Dola became a French singer in 2019, the summer when he discovered “Dit-moi” by Michel Jonasz. At the start of the school year he began working in an organic store in the Glacière district of Paris, which became the main setting for his first album De la Glacière which evokes belonging to a group, to a place, through songs about his colleagues, his relationship to work.
Like when he sang in English, Tony composes with a sea green Stratocaster. Far from being a “studio man”, he calls on his old friends Quentin Berré on bass, Adrien Stiefel on drums and Quitterie Cazeneuve on piano to accompany him.
Beyond the Michels, Alains and Roberts of French variety, Tony is inspired by rocksteady, Doo wop as well as by cinema and its composers (Cosma, Sarde, Lai, Ortolani, Trovajoli, Alessandroni, John Williams…). It’s the story potential of a song that makes Tony decide that it’s worth listening to.
